Practices and Games
Practices for each sport offered are held on the St. Vincent campus. Coaches will inform team members of practice times. Children are not to be left unattended in the parish facilities or on the parish grounds. Please do not drop players off more than 10 minutes before practice and pick them up promptly when practice is over. If a coach is not present when dropping a child off, please wait with your child until the coach arrives. Games are scheduled by the leagues. The coach will give players a copy of the schedule, game locations, and any other important dates or information as soon as it becomes available.
Expectation of Athletes
- Athletes are expected to maintain a Christian attitude during games and practices. Disrespect for coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, equipment, or property will not be tolerated.
- Athletes are expected to play as a team at all times. Players are to remember that each person on the team will have different strengths and levels of ability, but no one player is any more important than another.
- Athletes are responsible for any uniform or equipment issued during the season. Families will be invoiced for the replacement cost of any item not returned, or returned in poor condition, at the end of the season.
- Athletes are expected to be dedicated and committed to the team. This includes being on time for practices and games, and abiding by the rules the coach has established.
Expectations of Parents
- Parents are expected to return the sign-up forms and fees by the assigned dates.
- Parents are expected to support team spirit and maintain a Christian attitude during games, showing respect for players, opponents, coaches, and officials.
- Parents are expected to support the coaches and the decisions they make.
- Parents are expected to bring players to practice on time and pick them up promptly afterward.
- Parents are expected to work the concession stand and door admissions as scheduled. If you are unable to work your assigned time, it is your responsibility to get a sub or switch times with another parent. Do not call the coach or fundraising coordinator to arrange a replacement.
- Parents are expected to make sure that the player’s uniform is returned at the end of the season. Parents will be invoiced for the replacement cost of the uniform if it is not returned or if it is returned damaged.
