Hello and welcome to St. Vincent! I have been a stay-at-home mom of three for 19 years while working with our family business, BEST Plumbing. I have a BFA in Performing Arts and sing with my parish, as well as with a small ensemble of friends. I am happy to be the “mom of the school”! Every day is fun and interesting, and I love getting to know all the students and their families. Please contact me with any questions about our school!

My name is Mikki Dunkley, and I am the Kindergarten teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer school. I have a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from Wittenberg University. Kindergarten is an exciting year! My assistant, Mrs. Downs, and I LOVE teaching Kindergarten because the children are so excited each and every day to come to school. Their growth over the course of the year is TREMENDOUS!! I am in my 17th year of teaching. I taught preschool for 12 years before teaching Kindergarten at St. Vincent Ferrer. My four children, Caitlin (class of '09), Christopher (class of '11), Brennan (class of '14) and Noah (class of '17) have all attended SVF. I fell in love with SVF as a parent, long before I was a teacher here. My husband, Mark, and I have always loved this school, not only for its strong academic program, but also because of its small, loving, family atmosphere that helped to shape our children. I am so thankful to be a part of this school, and to pay forward the gift that was given to my children over the course of their time here at SVF.

Hello, my name is Lucy Frey. I was raised in Cincinnati and I am a product of seventeen years of Catholic Education. I am a 2015 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. While attending the University of Dayton, I also received a 4-5 Generalist Endorsement. When I was not studying, I spent my time on the golf course playing for the University of Dayton Women's Golf Team. I am very honored to be the first grade teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer. I look forward to bringing my high energy and love of education to the school. I cannot imagine a better environment to start my teaching career.

This is my 25th year of teaching in Catholic schools! I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas More College, and Master’s degree from Northern Kentucky University. I also have the Advanced Level Religion Certification. Growing up as the middle child of a Catholic family of 13, including a brother with special needs, was my inspiration to become an educator and follow in my mother and grandmother’s footsteps. I have been married to my husband for 30 years, and have been blessed with two daughters; both products of Catholic education. Returning to the second grade, and preparing children for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist is a dream come true! It is a privilege to be able to share my Catholic faith with my students, their families and fellow Christian brothers and sisters. What a joy it is to see their excitement as they sing, read bible stories, say the rosary, and learn about God and His Church!

Welcome to third grade! I am so very excited to be teaching at St. Vincent Ferrer! I am a graduate of Catholic schools: All Saints, Ursuline, and Xavier University. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education with a concentration in Montessori. I spent two years teaching Montessori before moving to the Catholic schools, where I have been teaching third grade ever since. I love the energy and enthusiasm of my students, their willingness to work hard, and the caring and compassion they have for others. How blessed we all are to be able to come to SVF every day!

It has been such a pleasure to be part of the SVF family since 1998. I started as the 4th grade teacher fresh out of college and have enjoyed learning and growing with the students and staff over the years. I also spent 4 years as the computer teacher/tech coordinator, but I am delighted to return to 4th and 5th grade. I am a native of Cincinnati, growing up in Delhi and attending Catholic schools for most of my academic career. I graduated from Mount St. Joe in 1997 and earned my Masters from XU in 2008. Teaching in a Catholic school is a privilege I thank God for everyday. I have enjoyed working with so many great students and families, and hope to continue for many years to come.

Hello! My name is Miss Elizabeth Pearson. I am a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Cincinnati. There I studied Early Childhood Education, and received my Bachelors of Science, as well as studied additionally in fourth and fifth grade education. It is thrilling to begin my teaching career here at St. Vincent Ferrer! Living in the Cincinnati area since birth has made me so thankful to have been blessed with a teaching position so close to home. I am also part of St. Cecilia parish in Oakley, being an active member in their parish life with both family (four sisters and two parents) and friends. My first years as a teacher here will be interesting I am sure; and I am greatly excited by the opportunity that I have to teach God’s children.

My name is Michele Frost and I am proud to serve as the junior high language arts and French teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer School. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and French education (GO BUCKS!). Teaching here at St. Vincent Ferrer is my dream job! Our loving atmosphere created by compassionate faculty and staff members, along with dedicated students and families, truly makes it a joy to come to school each day. I saw evidence of this even before I became a member of the SVF faculty, as all of my four children were beneficiaries of the high-quality educational foundation SVF offers its students. We are a well-kept secret in the heart of Kenwood-a small school with big accomplishments-and I am honored to be a part of the SVF tradition.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from LSU in Journalism and Marketing. (GEAUX TIGERS!!) I went back to school to pursue my Elementary Education degree from SLU in Hammond, Louisiana and have been teaching Math for 10 years at Our Lady of Lourdes in Slidell before moving to Cincinnati for my husband's job. I have been married for 22 years this December and have two beautiful daughters. Kayleigh is a freshman attending Defiance College on a full academic scholarship and college swimmer studying Molecular Biology and Payton is a sophomore at Mason High School. I am a survivor of many storms and floods, the worst of which was Hurricane Katrina where I lost not only my own personal home, but my beloved school and church. I firmly believe that through God all things are possible. Well...God, Coffee, and Chocolate! I am looking forward to bringing my love of Math and Science to SVF and being here for my students. Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!

Eighth Grade

Is there anyone more interesting, more unpredictable, more fun than junior high students? I don’t think so, which is why I’ve been teaching them for over fifteen years now! After graduating from Indiana University with a B.A. and a certification in Secondary Education, I taught at Indianapolis Public School #108, spent a year at Blanchester Junior High School, homeschooled my own children, and spent six years at Prince of Peace. It is a special joy to teach junior high at St. Vincent Ferrer, though. We are so lucky to be in a school that celebrates the gifts that each child (and adult) has within him or her. Here at SVF we push to grow our strengths, learn from our weaknesses, and share who we are for the betterment of our school community and our world. We are a small school with a big heart!

Hello. My name is Beth Palermo. My family became a part of the SVF family in 2010 after moving from St. Louis and enrolling our oldest, Joey, into 2nd grade. Finding SVF was such a blessing for my family, and continues to be so with each passing year. In addition to my son Joey, my daughter, Kate, also attends SVF. My husband, Joe, is also an involved parent with the school coaching soccer and basketball. I love working with children and I love art. To be able to combine both is a dream job for me. I have been teaching for Young Rembrandts, a Chicago based company focused on drawing and art enrichment for children ages 5-12, since 2013. I am thrilled to expand my teaching to SVF. I have so much to teach, create, and discover about art and art appreciation with our students that I know we will have a very exciting and colorful school year at SVF!

Computer

Working as a tech teacher and coordinator combines two of my lifelong loves: elementary education and working with computers. I have a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and I spent a decade in Massachusetts working in corporate settings as a software engineer. I firmly believe that all children growing up today will use computing technology in some capacity in their adult lives and those who are comfortable with the steady march of evolving technologies will be at a distinct professional advantage over those who are not. After moving to Ohio and staying at home while my children went to elementary school, I received a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology from UC. One of the things that I value the most about being at St. Vincent Ferrer is that it provides an opportunity to work in a private school setting where Christ’s love and example can be openly expressed.

Many blessings come from being a part of a Christ centered school like St. Vincent Ferrer.

Intervention Specialist

I am excited to be the intervention specialist at St. Vincent Ferrer! After graduating from Ohio University, I began my teaching career as a preschool teacher before moving to Chicago, Illinois where I taught kindergarten for several years. After returning to Cincinnati, I began working for the Hamilton County Educational Service Center as an early childhood intervention specialist. I spent 6 years teaching preschool students with special needs before moving to the school-age realm. I spent a year working at St. Ursula Villa before starting at St. Vincent Ferrer. I missed the first part of the year after having my first baby, Parker. Although I miss being at home with Parker, it was an easy transition back to work, because the students and staff here are so wonderful. My goal for the year is to help each of my students succeed to the best of their ability and to feel confident in the classroom.

Math Enrichment

I received my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati and taught first grade in the Cincinnati Public Schools for 2 years. I stayed home with my family for a few years, substitute teaching in the Cincinnati Public, Northwest, Milford, and New Richmond Schools. I received a Reading Endorsement from the State of Ohio in January 2015. Although I love teaching Reading, I had an opportunity to teach Math at both St. James in White Oak and St. Susanna in Mason in the 2014-2015 year. I struggled with math as a child, but came to love it as an adult. I am enthusiastic about mathematics and I work to impart a sense of wonder with a gentle touch of empathy for kids who need extra help. I live in Golf Manor with my son Adam who is 12 and my husband Scott plus our two cats. I love to travel and to read. I am a fan of almost every sport.
